How We Ship Heavy Machinery at AGT Equipment

How We Ship Heavy Machinery at AGT Equipment

Purchasing heavy equipment online requires trust. At AGT Equipment, we have built our fulfillment and shipping process to be predictable, documented, and transparent, so customers know exactly what happens after an order is placed.

This article explains how machines move from our warehouse to your site, what options are available at delivery, and what customers should prepare for in advance.

Step 1: Order Confirmation and Scheduling

Once an order is confirmed and payment is received, our logistics team immediately coordinates with our licensed freight partners. All orders are processed the within the next 3 business days unless there are extra complications with the carrier.

We ship from our warehouses in California, Houston, and Chicago and deliver throughout the continental United States and Canada, excluding Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico .

Large machines such as mini excavators and skid steers are shipped via T-Force, while smaller items are shipped using FedEx or UPS. Tracking information is sent automatically once the order leaves our facility.

Step 2: Machine Preparation and Wrapping

Before shipment, every machine is inspected and tested.

For 1–2 ton machines, the unit is:

  • Driven onto a pallet
  • Secured and tied down
  • Fully wrapped for transport protection

This preparation minimizes movement, protects hydraulic components, and reduces cosmetic damage during transit.

For larger machines, we work with other carriers to deliver them straight to your door.

Step 3: Transit and Delivery Timeline

Once picked up by T-Force, most large machines arrive within 5–8 business days, depending on distance and terminal scheduling. Delivery times are estimates and may vary due to weather, traffic, or carrier logistics .

When your shipment reaches the terminal closest to your location, the carrier will contact you to arrange final delivery or pickup.

Step 4: Unloading and Pickup Options

Because these are heavy machines, customers must plan ahead for unloading.

You have three options:

1. On-site Forklift or Equipment
If you have a forklift or suitable unloading equipment, the carrier can deliver directly to your location.

2. Terminal Pickup
If you do not have unloading equipment, you may choose to pick up the machine yourself from the nearest freight terminal using a trailer. This option is arranged directly with the carrier when they contact you.

3. Lift Gate Service (Optional)
If neither option works, we offer lift gate service for an additional fee. This can be added directly to your shopping cart before checkout.

Important Shipping Policies Customers Should Know

To protect both parties and ensure smooth delivery, please review these key policies:

  • Customers must inspect the shipment before signing the Bill of Lading. Any visible damage must be noted and signed by both the driver and recipient. Failure to do so releases liability .
  • Customers must notify AGT Equipment of any damage, defect, or discrepancy within 3 business days of delivery.
  • AGT Equipment’s responsibility begins when the carrier signs the Bill of Lading at pickup and ends when the delivery is signed by the recipient.
  • Personal belongings must not be attached to or included with shipments.
  • Delivery addresses must be valid physical locations.
Why This Process Matters

Heavy equipment shipping is not the same as standard parcel delivery. Our process is designed to:

  • Reduce damage risk
  • Set clear expectations
  • Give customers flexible unloading options
  • Maintain accountability at every step

If you have questions before ordering, our team is available by phone or chat to walk through your specific delivery situation.

At AGT Equipment, reliability does not stop at the product. It extends all the way to your driveway.
