At AGT Equipment, we value the trust and hard work of our customers. Unfortunately, scammers are targeting equipment buyers through phone calls, social media, and unofficial websites. Recently, one of our long-time customers was tricked by a fraudulent seller, and we want to make sure you have the tools to protect yourself.
Here are the most common red flags to look for when spotting a scammer:
We only process transactions through our official website, agtequipment.com or through our financing company. Our platform runs on Shopify, which ensures both your safety and ours.
If someone asks you to pay via Zelle, Venmo, CashApp, or wire transfer, treat it as extremely suspicious.
As many of you know, we’re still improving our parts availability. Until we’re fully confident in our stock, we will never cold-advertise “Hey, we’ve got parts” or message you out of the blue. If someone sends you a robotic “We have parts, DM me” message, that is a classic scam tactic.
Scammers often use poor English or robotic phrasing. If it doesn’t sound like us, it probably isn’t. Communication and transparency are extremely important to us, and you’ll always know when you’re dealing with an official AGT Equipment representative.
If you’re ever in doubt, here are a few ways to confirm you’re dealing with the real AGT Equipment team:
Only trust purchases through agtequipment.com or our financing partner.
Contact us directly on our official channels. You can also reach out to me personally or to Jose Marquez via Facebook for verification.
It makes us livid to see scammers take advantage of hardworking people. Please stay alert, protect yourself, and share this warning so others don’t get caught in the trap.
At AGT Equipment, your trust matters. We’ll continue doing everything we can to keep your buying experience safe, transparent, and secure.
